Software development teams, marketing departments, even creative agencies. Everywhere you look, teams are becoming more agile and innovating faster with Jira. They’re developing smarter workflows, getting more work done, and increasing transparency and collaboration across the board.
Yet, for all its capabilities as an agile tool, Jira can also slow some teams down. Design and creative teams, for instance, do their best work in Adobe Creative Cloud. Having to switch to another software to track their progress and collaborate with project teams is more than an inconvenience—it’s a constant drain on productivity.
Experts suggest that context switching can cost anywhere from 15% to 40% of productivity. That’s why agile teams tune their workflows and systems to minimize the need for context switching. Keeping your teams focused on their most important tasks is one of the best things you can do to improve efficiency and speed innovation.
A Powerful Integration for Atlassian Jira and Adobe Creative Cloud
In 2017, 6kites teamed up with our partners Atlassian and Adobe to build an integration between Jira and Adobe Creative Cloud. The resulting app, Mixin for Adobe Creative Cloud and Jira, bridges the gap between project teams who work in Jira and designers who live in Adobe Creative Cloud.
With this simple integration, designers can easily attach assets to, and comment on, Jira issues directly from Photoshop CC, InDesign CC, and Illustrator CC. No more switching between software tools, time-consuming uploads/downloads, or broken feedback loops. Now designers can enjoy all the advantages of agile workflows with Jira, without losing time or focus switching between contexts.
Latest Release Lets You Unleash the Full Power of Adobe Creative Cloud
The latest version of Mixin for Adobe Creative Cloud and Jira goes beyond uploading attachments and bidirectional commenting on issues from within Adobe Creative Cloud. Now, project teams and developers have full access to Adobe Creative Cloud from within Jira.

Full Integration Between Jira and Adobe Cloud
In the first version of the Mixin app, creative assets were sent to Jira issues as an attachment. This saved designers from having to leave their artboards, search for the appropriate issue in Jira, upload their asset to Jira, and then constantly go back and forth between the systems to see and respond to feedback. Yet, it didn’t tap into the full potential of the cloud.
With the latest release, we have tightened the integration between Adobe CC and Atlassian Jira. Now creative assets can be stored in Adobe Creative Cloud. Teams in Jira are able to search for Adobe CC assets and open them directly in Jira.
Teams can now search for and view assets from Adobe Creative Cloud directly in Jira.
New Comment-Only Mode Extends Collaboration Between Teams
It’s never too soon to start collaborating. With the latest release of Mixin for Adobe Creative Cloud and Jira, we have added a Comment-Only Mode. Now designers in Adobe CC can view and comment on Jira issues without have to first upload a creative asset.
In just a few clicks, designers are able to open a new file, relate it to a Jira issue, and instantly see and respond to comments from the team. This makes it easy for teams to collaborate throughout the project, while working within the tools they know and love.
Comment-Only Mode lets designers comment on Jira issues without uploading an asset.
